Refund Policy

This policy sets out how a paid subscription to Beacone may be cancelled, the statutory right of withdrawal available to consumers, and the circumstances in which a payment is refunded.

Effective 18 September 2026

Routine changes to a subscription, including cancellation and the payment method, are made from billing settings in your account and take effect immediately. Email is needed only for a dispute under section 9, or as a fallback if a control in billing settings is unavailable, and goes to support@beacone.dev. State the email address associated with your account and, where available, the payment reference shown on your receipt. The identity of the operator, and the means of giving notice, are set out in the terms of service.

1. Scope

This policy applies to paid subscriptions to Beacone. Paid plans are not yet available for purchase, so no subscription can currently be created. It governs the operator’s discretionary refund commitment, the statutory right of withdrawal available to consumers, and the treatment of cancellation, price changes and failed payments. It forms part of the agreement constituted by the terms of service, and terms defined there have the same meaning here.

2. The free plan

The free plan carries no charge, and no refund arises under it. The limits of the free plan may be modified in accordance with section 3 of the terms of service.

3. Refund within 14 days of purchase

The operator will refund a first purchase of an individual (Solo) subscription in full where you request it within 14 days of the date of purchase, either from billing settings in your account or by email to support@beacone.dev. No reason is required and no condition attaches to the request. This commitment is made in addition to, and does not limit or replace, any statutory right you hold. It applies to a first purchase made by a business as well as to a first purchase made by a consumer.

A Team plan, bought for an organization, is not covered by this section. It is billed per seat for an organization, so the refund commitment above does not extend to it. Cancelling a Team plan stops the next renewal under section 5, and no part of the period for which payment has already been made is refunded.

A renewal is not covered by this section. A renewal you no longer require is to be prevented by cancelling before the renewal date, in accordance with section 5.

4. Right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, distance-selling legislation gives you the right to withdraw from a subscription concluded online within 14 days, without giving any reason and without penalty. That period begins on the day the contract is concluded.

You may withdraw from billing settings in your account, which is the faster route and produces a written confirmation. You may instead send a clear statement of your decision to withdraw by email to support@beacone.dev. Either is sufficient, provided it is made before the period expires and identifies the subscription. No form is prescribed, and a withdrawal communicated by any other unequivocal means is equally effective.

Commencement of performance. A subscription is a service whose performance begins immediately. Where you expressly request that performance begin during the withdrawal period and acknowledge that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal, that right is extinguished once performance has begun. By subscribing you make that request and give that acknowledgement. The commitment in section 3 is provided in place of the right so extinguished.

Where a refund is due under this section it is made using the same means of payment as the original transaction, and no fee is charged to you in respect of the refund.

Nothing in this section limits or excludes a right that cannot be limited or excluded under the law applicable to you.

5. Cancellation

You may cancel a paid subscription at any time from billing settings in your account, and the cancellation takes effect immediately. If you are unable to do so, a cancellation sent by email to support@beacone.dev is equally effective. Cancellation prevents the next renewal. It does not terminate the subscription before the end of the period for which payment has already been made, and the paid plan remains available until the end of that period.

No part of a period for which payment has been made is refunded on cancellation, save under section 3 or section 4. The period, and not a portion of it, is what was purchased.

6. Price changes

Prices may change. A change takes effect at your next renewal and does not apply to a period for which payment has already been made. A change is announced before it takes effect.

7. Failed payments

Where a renewal payment fails, the subscription is not terminated immediately. The payment is retried during a grace period, during which the paid plan remains in effect and you are notified in the product that the payment has failed. If the payment has not succeeded by the end of the grace period, the subscription reverts to the free plan and the limits of the free plan apply.

No account data is deleted because a payment has failed. Updating the payment method restores the paid plan. Deliveries that could not be made during the interval are not made retrospectively, because the service does not queue deliveries.

8. Processing of refunds

A refund is made using the same means of payment as the original transaction. Once issued it ordinarily takes five to ten business days to appear, depending on the card issuer. The operator does not control that interval.

Payment processing is carried out by a third-party provider, which may issue the refund in its own name rather than in the name of Beacone.

A subscription that is refunded reverts to the free plan at the time the refund is made. A refund does not preserve entitlement to a paid plan.

9. Payment disputes

If you consider that a refund due under this policy has not been made, contact support@beacone.dev before initiating a chargeback with your payment provider. A chargeback is a slower and more costly process for both parties and is ordinarily unnecessary. Initiating a chargeback is your right and is not a breach of these terms; this paragraph is a request and not a condition of any refund.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be modified. The effective date above is updated on modification. A modification that reduces the refunds available is announced before it takes effect and does not apply to a purchase already made.
