Quick checks
No GitHub notifications arrive
Confirm that GitHub is connected, the App is installed on the repository, and the event’s reason is enabled in NotificationRules. Organisation permission changes may need approval from an owner.
Slack is connected but quiet
Open Account settings and make sure Slack is connected and selected as your delivery destination. Messages arrive in your private App Home Messages conversation, not in a channel.
Telegram stopped delivering
Check that Telegram is still connected and selected, and that the bot has not been blocked. If needed, connect it again from Account settings.
CI failures are missing
CI notifications need GitHub Actions: Read permission, the CI-failure rule enabled, and the relevant repository included by your CI repository setting.
A scheduled reminder did not arrive
Reminders are off until you choose a daily or weekly cadence in NotificationRules. A digest is skipped when nothing is outstanding, when GitHub is disconnected or needs reauthorizing, or when no destination is selected and connected. A period missed while Beacone itself was unreachable is not replayed. Event rules and mutes do not apply to it.
Google says it is not linked
google_not_linked means that Google identity has never been linked to a Beacone account, and Google cannot create one. Get started with GitHub, then link Google from Account settings and it becomes a way to sign back in.
Linking Google reports a conflict
identity_in_use means that Google identity already belongs to another Beacone account: sign into that one, or email support. provider_already_linked means your account already has a different Google identity, so unlink that one first.
GitHub needs reconnecting
REAUTH_REQUIRED means GitHub revoked or expired the stored credential while your account stayed intact. Choose Reconnect GitHub on the dashboard or in Account settings and authorize again. Nothing else is lost.
Your organisation already installed the App
One installation is shared by everyone with access to its selected repositories, so you do not install it again. Your GitHub authorization is individual: each member signs in with GitHub once and sees only the repositories GitHub says they can reach.
Pausing, and leaving
GitHub cannot be unlinked, because it is how your notifications arrive. To pause, untick reasons, mute an actor or a repository, or hide an installation. To leave, delete your account from Account settings.
Account and privacy requests
You can disconnect services or permanently delete your account from Account settings. For access, correction, export, waitlist removal, or another privacy request, email support@beacone.dev. See the privacy policy for details about stored data and retention.
